Maple News reports that Alberta conducted two provincial immigration draws between July 16 and July 21, 2026, both targeting workers in priority sectors. Through the Alberta Express Entry Stream, the province issued 82 invitations to apply for provincial nomination.
The July 21 round focused on Construction, issuing 53 invitations with a minimum score of 65; the July 16 round targeted Agriculture, issuing 29 invitations with a minimum score of 56. Construction invitations accounted for about 64.6% of the total.
Both draws marked the highest cut-off scores of the year for their respective streams.
Collectively, the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) has conducted 64 draws in 2026, with five targeted construction draws and four targeted agriculture draws so far.
As of July 30, Alberta has invited no fewer than 10,828 candidates to apply for provincial nomination through the AAIP this year.
Under the federal-provincial program, the federal government granted Alberta 6,403 nomination spaces through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP); by July 30, the province had issued 3,892 nominations.
The continued emphasis on priority sectors aligns with Alberta’s labour-market needs in construction and agriculture, and the Express Entry pathway remains a faster route for skilled workers with ties to the province.
