Maple News reports Alberta issues 332 invitations in four AAIP draws targeting tech, healthcare, and rural workers

Maple News reports that Alberta’s Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) issued 332 invitations to apply across four provincial draws held from April 8 to April 14, 2026. The invitations spanned multiple AAIP streams, including technology-focused, health care, and rural pathways.

Across 2026 so far, the AAIP has conducted 27 draws, with the majority of invitations coming through the Alberta Opportunity Stream. The latest round follows five draws conducted between March 17 and March 27 that together produced more than 290 invitations.

Draw details by date show the following: on April 8, the Accelerated Tech Pathway drew 146 invitations with a minimum score of 59; on April 9, the Rural Renewal Stream issued 74 invitations with a minimum score of 50; on April 13, the Dedicated Health Care Pathway – Express Entry issued 62 invitations with a minimum score of 59; and on April 14, the Alberta Express Entry Stream – Priority Sectors (Construction and skilled trades) issued 50 invitations with a minimum score of 60. Notably, the April 8 draw accounted for about 43% of the total invitations in this tranche.

Invitations were issued through these streams: the Alberta Express Entry Stream – Accelerated Tech Pathway; the Alberta Express Entry Stream – Priority Sectors (Construction and skilled trades); the Dedicated Health Care Pathway – Express Entry; and the Rural Renewal Stream.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has allocated Alberta 6,403 nomination spaces for 2026, underscoring the province’s ongoing use of its Provincial Nominee Program to attract skilled workers in strategic sectors.

Looking ahead, the combination of a robust tech pipeline, ongoing demand for health care professionals, and rural workforce initiatives suggests Alberta will continue prioritizing high-demand skills through AAIP in the coming months. Maple News will continue to monitor AAIP activity and provide updates on future draws and eligibility changes.
