Maple News reports that the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) issued 2,146 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) on July 16, inviting international student graduates, Manitoba-based and overseas skilled workers, and Francophones to apply for provincial nomination.
This round is the largest MPNP draw since September 2025 and marks the 14th selection round of 2026.
Invitations were distributed across three streams and pathways: Skilled Worker in Manitoba; Skilled Worker Stream in Manitoba and Overseas; and the International Education Stream, Graduate Internship Pathway.
Within Skilled Worker in Manitoba, selection categories included completion of post-secondary study in Manitoba, Francophone selection, and occupation-specific selection; the Overseas stream involved direct invitations under a strategic recruitment initiative; and the International Education Stream covered the Graduate Internship pathway.
Overall, about 92.4% of LAAs went to the Skilled Worker in Manitoba pathway, underscoring Manitoba’s emphasis on local graduates and in-demand occupations.
A breakdown shows: Skilled Worker in Manitoba – Manitoba post-secondary completion: 1,874 LAAs (cut-off 825); Francophone: 84 LAAs; Occupation-specific: 24 LAAs. Skilled Worker Stream in Manitoba and Overseas: 86 LAAs (direct invitation). International Education Stream – Graduate Internship: 78 LAAs. The round published a cut-off of 825 for the Manitoba post-secondary completion category; other subcategories did not publish a separate cut-off.
Among the invitees, 825 declared a valid Express Entry profile in their Expression of Interest (EOI).
