Manitoba Awards 77 Invitations in Latest Skilled Worker Draw, Opens Path to Provincial Nomination

Maple News reports that Manitoba issued 77 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) on July 2 through its Skilled Worker Stream, part of a strategic recruitment initiative. This marks the 13th selection round conducted by the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) in 2026. The LAAs were distributed across two Skilled Worker pathways: Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas.

To be considered, applicants had to declare in their Expression of Interest profile that they were invited via a recruitment mission or the Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates (TPP), a policy that is now expired.

The largest share of LAAs went to MPNP candidates invited through Employer Services (46.8%), followed by the TPP (40.3%). The remaining LAAs were allocated to Francophone Community (8) and Regional Communities (2), with a total of 36 invitations under Employer Services and 31 under the TPP.

Of the 77 LAAs issued, 15 went to candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code, signaling alignment with the federal expression of interest system.

Manitoba’s officials also noted that some applicants who appeared to meet the draw criteria might not have been selected in this round due to remaining eligibility requirements or program rules in effect at the time.

This latest round underscores Manitoba’s ongoing efforts to attract skilled workers through targeted recruitment streams and shows how different initiatives continue to shape who receives invitations to apply for provincial nomination.
