Study permit processing times remained unchanged across the featured countries for a third consecutive week. The update also notes shifts in other visa categories: super visa submissions from the Philippines increased by 16 days, and those from Nigeria by eight days; visitor visa submissions from Pakistan rose by five days.
For work permits, the latest estimates show declines for nearly all countries. Nigeria leads the gains, dropping from 11 weeks to six weeks. Canada-bound applicants are listed at 124 days, down from 127 days; India remains at nine weeks; Pakistan rises to seven weeks (from six); the United States decreases to three weeks (from four); and the Philippines moves to six weeks (from seven).
IRCC also outlines service standards: initial and extension submissions made from within Canada are targeted at 120 days, while submissions outside Canada are targeted at 60 days.
The update compares data from July 7 to July 15 across six major source countries for temporary residents, highlighting the broader trend toward shorter work permit timelines, with study permit processing times remaining steady.
