IRCC updates Express Entry score distribution as top profiles fall to 19,136

Maple News reports the latest data from Canada’s immigration department showing that the number of top-scoring Express Entry profiles has declined from 20,953 to 19,136. The July 5 update, published by IRCC, compares with the June 21 release and comes as the Express Entry pool tightens somewhat.

The total Express Entry pool stood at 235,127 on July 5, down 4,518 from 239,645 on June 21. This contraction reflects a broad shift across several CRS score ranges.

Details show declines across the lower bands: the 0–300 range fell by 231 profiles, and 301–350 dropped by 433, while 351–400 declined by 801. By contrast, some mid-range bands posted small gains: 401–410 rose by 176, 411–420 by 255, 421–430 by 286, 431–440 by 147, 441–450 by 147, and 451–460 by 251, with 461–470 up by 141.

The upper bands experienced the most substantial declines, including 471–480 (−1,120), 481–490 (−1,043), 491–500 (−476), 501–600 (−1,401), and 601–1,200 (−416). Overall, the distribution shifted toward lower total counts at the high end while the overall pool size decreased.

A separate percentile-based view shows how candidates are spread across CRS bands. For example, 0–300 accounts for about 3.35% of applicants, 301–350 for roughly 7.45%, and 351–400 for about 21.73%. The mid-to-upper bands (501–600 at ~7.92% and 601–1200 at ~0.22%) together with the bands above 471–470 illustrate that roughly 63% of entrants sit in the 351–470 range.

Maple News will continue to track these shifts as IRCC conducts monthly distributions and draws, helping readers assess competitiveness and plan next steps.
