Maple News reports that British Columbia’s Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) issued 437 invitations in a May 14, 2026 Skills Immigration draw, marking the province’s fifth SI draw of the year.
Invitations were granted under two selection factors: wage/salary plus TEER 0–3 job offer (with a wage of at least $59 per hour, about $120,000 per year) and a minimum registration score of 135 points.
Invitations were split nearly evenly between the two factors, with a slight tilt toward wage-based selection: 225 invitations for wage/salary plus job offer, and 212 for the registration-score pathway (51.5% for wage-based).
BCPNP frames this round under its Innovate initiative, which aims to attract experts and innovators from across sectors to help make British Columbia a top destination for international talent.
Under this initiative, invitations target highly skilled workers across a broad range of in-demand sectors and occupations. The province notes that future high-economic-impact invitations may be based on different SI selection factors, which can include education, provincial designation, work experience, language ability, occupation, the wage or skill level of a job offer, intent to live in a particular region of the province, and alignment with provincial labour priorities or projects.
This draw is the third-largest SI draw of 2026, following the 484-invite April 22 round and the 460-invite February 11 round. Earlier in the year, a February 4 round issued 429 invitations under the wage/salary and TEER 0–3 job-offer criteria.
