Invitations were spread across multiple streams: the Alberta Opportunity Stream; Rural Renewal Stream; Alberta Express Entry Stream – Priority Sectors (Health Care); Alberta Express Entry Stream – Accelerated Tech; and the Dedicated Health Care pathway (non-Express Entry). By March, AAIP had published invitations across 18 draws in 2026, with the majority coming via the Alberta Opportunity Stream. The March 16 draw was the first Express Entry round this year to prioritize health care. Draw highlights from February 26 to March 16 included: March 16, Alberta Express Entry Stream – Priority Sectors (Health Care): minimum score 63, 50 invitations; March 13, Rural Renewal Stream: minimum 51, 349 invitations; March 12, Dedicated Health Care Pathway – non-Express Entry: minimum 47, 47 invitations; March 6, Alberta Express Entry Stream – Accelerated Tech: minimum 56, 139 invitations; March 5, Alberta Opportunity Stream: minimum 61, 832 invitations; February 26, Rural Renewal Stream: minimum 55, 30 invitations. As of March 17, the province had issued 1,127 nominations, leaving 5,276; the AAIP inventory included 1,253 applications awaiting processing. The ongoing emphasis on rural pathways and critical sectors like health care and technology signals Alberta’s strategy to balance growth with community sustainability. Maple News will continue to monitor AAIP movements and their impact on migrants and employers.
