Maple News reports that the Northwest Territories Nominee Program (NTNP) has gained 103 additional nomination spaces from the federal government for 2026, lifting the territory’s annual allocation to 300 nominations. This increase mirrors the total reached by the end of 2025 after two prior increments.
The boost enables an additional Employer-Driven Stream Expression of Interest (EOI) draw on August 26, 2026. Job offer holders must have their employers submit an application by August 24, 2026 to be eligible for the draw.
The Government of the Northwest Territories announced the change in a news release posted August 7 on the NTNP news page.
Two online information sessions for foreign nationals and employers are available via Zoom: August 18, 2026, 2:00–3:30 p.m. (registration due August 17 at 5:00 p.m.) and August 20, 2026, 10:00–11:30 a.m. (registration due August 19 at 12:00 p.m.). Email immigration@gov.nt.ca to receive the Zoom link; French interpretation will be provided.
Under the updated schedule, the NTNP will conduct four draws in 2026. The territory has already completed two rounds on March 25 and June 25.
