Maple News: PEI Announces Largest Provincial Immigration Draw of 2026, Inviting 182 Candidates

Maple News reports that Prince Edward Island conducted its largest provincial immigration draw of 2026 on June 18, inviting 182 candidates to apply for provincial nomination. Invitations were issued to in-province workers employed in high-demand occupations and sectors.

The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) awarded Invitations to Apply (ITAs) through two streams: Labour Impact and PEI Express Entry, prioritizing candidates already working in PEI in occupations with strong economic impact.

International student graduates from the island’s post-secondary institutions—University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI), Holland College, and Collège de l’Île—were given priority in this draw.

When compared with earlier rounds in 2026, the June 18 draw stands out: Jan 15 (26 ITAs), Feb 19 (109), Mar 20 (101), Apr 16 (127), May 21 (113), and Jun 18 (182). All but the March 20 draw aligned with the province’s ITA schedule. The selection criteria remained consistent: candidates must be working in PEI in high-demand occupations or priority sectors, with a continued emphasis on graduates from the three designated institutions.

The Labour Impact category comprises three streams: Skilled Worker, Critical Worker, and International Graduate. As of June 18, the province has issued a total of 658 ITAs for provincial nomination, reflecting PEI’s targeted approach to workforce development and retention of international talent.
