British Columbia Issues 14 Invitations in April Entrepreneur Immigration Draw, Largest EI Round of 2026

Maple News reports that on April 14, British Columbia conducted a new selection round under its Entrepreneur Immigration (EI) category, targeting candidates who can start a new business or acquire and grow an existing BC enterprise. Invitations were issued through the BC Provincial Nominee Program’s Entrepreneur Immigration Base stream, with a minimum score of 115 and 14 invitations issued.

This draw marks the largest standalone EI selection round in BC this year. The base-stream minimum score of 115 points represents a two-point drop from the previous base-stream entrepreneur draw on March 10, 2026, indicating a modest easing of competition for business candidates.

Year to date, BC has held six entrepreneur draws in 2026, four of which occurred through the Base stream. Through April, BC’s EI category has issued at least 41 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to qualified business candidates.

The province continues to use its EI program to attract immigrant founders who can create jobs and spur growth in BC’s economy. This pattern aligns with Canada’s broader strategy to support startup activity and regional development via provincial nominee programs.

For applicants, keeping track of updates from the BC PNP is essential, as draw sizes and scoring thresholds can shift with policy priorities and economic conditions. Maple News will continue to monitor the EI program and provide updates for prospective applicants.
