Alberta Invites 1,051 Candidates Across Four AAIP Draws, Targeting Health, Tech and Rural Communities

Maple News reports that Alberta’s Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) conducted four selection rounds from May 1–13, inviting 1,051 candidates to apply for provincial nomination. The invitations targeted health and tech professionals, as well as individuals intending to live and work in rural Alberta communities. The four draws tapped four AAIP streams: Rural Renewal Stream, Alberta Opportunity Stream, Alberta Express Entry Stream – Accelerated Tech Pathway, and the Dedicated Health Care Pathway – Express Entry. The May 13 session focused on Health Care Pathway – Express Entry, while the other rounds covered the Accelerated Tech Pathway, the Opportunity Stream and Rural Renewal Stream. In detail, the May 13 draw issued 61 invitations through the Dedicated Health Care Pathway – Express Entry with a minimum score of 57; May 7’s Alberta Express Entry Stream – Accelerated Tech Pathway yielded 146 invitations at a minimum score of 57; May 6’s Alberta Opportunity Stream produced 832 invitations with a minimum score of 54; and May 1’s Rural Renewal Stream issued 12 invitations with a minimum score of 50. Overall, the Alberta Opportunity Stream accounted for about 79.2% of May’s invitations, making it the largest contributor among the four draws. Alberta’s official materials note these streams as part of its ongoing nomination priorities for 2026. As of mid-May, Alberta has conducted 36 provincial immigration draws in 2026.
