Maple News Exclusive: Manitoba’s Largest 2026 PNP Draw Invites 906 Applicants, Spotlighting Education Roles and Strategic Recruitment

Maple News reports that Manitoba’s Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) held its largest draw of the year on May 7, issuing 906 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs). The round specifically prioritized teachers and education assistants, alongside direct invitations under a strategic recruitment initiative. This marks Manitoba’s ninth selection round of 2026.

The draw was conducted through Manitoba’s Skilled Worker Stream, which operates via two pathways: Skilled Worker in Manitoba (occupation-specific) and Skilled Worker — Manitoba + Overseas. Applicants were selected based on two components: in-province job occupations and direct invitations under recruitment initiatives, which can target both in-province and overseas candidates.

Among the LAAs, 475 were issued through strategic recruitment invitations (Manitoba + Overseas) and 431 through occupation-specific eligibility for those currently employed in education occupations in Manitoba. In total, 906 LAAs were awarded across both streams.

Approximately 326 LAAs, or about 30% of the total, went to candidates with a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code, reflecting Manitoba’s continued alignment with federal Express Entry processes.

Overall, 52.4% of the invitations issued in this round were directed to candidates identified through strategic recruitment initiatives, underscoring the province’s emphasis on targeted hiring to address local labour needs, particularly in education. Maple News will continue to monitor Manitoba’s ongoing PNP activity and its impact on skilled immigration to the province.
