To be eligible, applicants needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 768 and had to have created an Express Entry profile before 3:58 p.m. UTC on May 15, 2026.
This was the first Express Entry draw of August, bringing IRCC’s 2026 Express Entry draw count to 43. The pattern remains clear: the program continues to favor candidates with Canadian work experience and provincial nominations, signaling ongoing demand from provinces to draw in skilled talent.
The August 4 draw specifically involved Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) entries, with a CRS cutoff of 768 and 507 ITAs issued. The high cutoff underscores the continued emphasis on provincial nomination pathways within the Express Entry system, a trend that benefits applicants who secure a nomination from a Canadian province.
A snapshot of recent draws shows the year’s mix across categories, including French-language proficiency (CRS cutoff 391, with thousands of invitations issued in early August), the Canadian Experience Class (CRS cutoff 516), and several targeted streams. Through 2026, IRCC has issued 105,123 ITAs across all Express Entry draw types. The breakdown highlights the distribution: Canadian Experience Class, French-language proficiency, Provincial Nominee Program, healthcare and social services, trades, transport, physicians with Canadian work experience, senior managers with Canadian work experience, and skilled military recruits.
