Maple News reports that Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 955 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) in a Provincial Nominee Program draw conducted through the Express Entry system—the first Express Entry draw of June and the first since May.
To be eligible for this draw, candidates needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 730 and a created Express Entry profile before 1:02 a.m. UTC on March 9, 2026.
Today’s draw marks the 31st Express Entry selection of 2026 and underscores IRCC’s current focus on candidates already in Canada, particularly those with provincial nominations and Canadian work experience.
Year to date, IRCC has issued 80,796 ITAs across draw types: 37,250 under the Canadian Experience Class, 30,500 for French-language proficiency, 5,405 for Provincial Nominee Program, 4,000 for healthcare and social services, 3,000 for trades, 391 for physicians with Canadian work experience, and 250 for senior managers with Canadian work experience.
IRCC’s 2026 draw activity has seen 12 Provincial Nominee Program draws, 9 Canadian Experience Class draws, 6 French-language proficiency draws, and single-category draws for physicians with Canadian work experience, healthcare and social services, senior managers with Canadian work experience, and trades. Maple News will continue tracking these developments and provide guidance for applicants assessing their Express Entry profile competitiveness.
