Maple News reports that Quebec conducted a new immigration selection round on June 4, inviting 2,549 provincial candidates through all four streams of the Skilled Worker Selection Program (PSTQ). The majority—42.9%—were allocated to applicants with highly qualified or specialized skills. This marks the province’s fifth draw of 2026, with selections drawn from the Arrima pool on June 1 at 6:00 a.m.
Stream 1, which targets workers with TEER 0–2 occupations, saw 1,094 invitations. Eligible candidates must be living in Quebec, have 12 months of work experience in the last five years, and hold a qualifying Quebec diploma. The stream is divided into four exercises, each with distinct education and occupation prerequisites.
Exercise 1 – Qualifying Quebec diploma (at least 900 hours or 30 credits): 459 invitations. Exercise 2 – Qualifying Quebec diploma + priority occupation (TEER 1–2): 239 invitations. Exercise 3 – Qualifying Quebec diploma + priority occupation (TEER 0–2): 165 invitations. Exercise 4 – Qualifying Quebec diploma: 231 invitations.
All candidates were required to demonstrate French language proficiency: level 7 or higher for oral skills and level 5 or higher in written skills. Accompanying spouses were required to meet level 4 or higher in oral skills.
In addition to language criteria, candidates needed one year of full-time study in Quebec and a qualifying Quebec diploma, which could take the form of a vocational diploma or attestation, a college or technical college diploma, a certificate, a specialized graduate diploma, a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree, or a doctorate.
While the underlying criteria varied slightly by exercise, the program continues to emphasize Quebec-educated credentials and French proficiency as it seeks to attract skilled workers to the province. Applicants should monitor the Arrima pool for future rounds, as additional draws are likely later in 2026.
