Maple News reports that Prince Edward Island conducted its fifth immigration draw of 2026 on May 21, issuing 114 invitations to candidates in in-demand occupations and priority sectors across the province. The figure marks the fifth consecutive month with more than 100 invitations.
The draw aligns with PEI’s published invitation schedule, and four of the five draws so far in 2026 have occurred on the exact dates listed. PEI remains the only Canadian province or territory to publicly release its annual draw calendar in advance, giving candidates clearer opportunities to plan their immigration journey.
Invitations were issued under two targeted streams: Labour Impact and PEI Express Entry—the two pathways active this year. The province prioritized individuals currently employed in PEI in priority sectors and occupations with high economic impact.
International student graduates from three PEI post-secondary institutions were prioritized in the selection: the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI), Holland College, and Collège de l Île. The selection criteria have remained consistent across all five draws in 2026.
This latest draw brings PEI’s total invitations for provincial nomination in 2026 to 477. Draw-by-draw totals to date are: 15 January — 26; 19 February — 109; 20 March — 101; 16 April — 127; 21 May — 114.
Maple News notes that PEI’s proactive transparency and steady invitation pace underscore the province’s approach to aligning immigration with local labor needs. For foreign students and workers considering Prince Edward Island, the PEI PNP continues to offer a clear, predictable pathway toward provincial nomination and permanent residence.
