Maple News reports that on May 21, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted its 10th selection round of the year, inviting candidates through a strategic recruitment initiative within the Skilled Worker Stream. Invitations were issued via both Skilled Worker pathways: Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas.
To qualify, candidates needed to have declared receipt of an invitation in their Expression of Interest (EOI) profile through a recruitment mission or via the Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates (TPP).
The MPNP issued 96 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) in this draw, with the largest share going to those invited under the TPP: 48 LAAs, representing 50% of the total.
LAAs by strategic recruitment initiative were distributed as follows: Employer Services 31; Ethnocultural Communities 9; Francophone Community 4; Regional Communities 4; and Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates (TPP) 48.
This distribution aligns with Manitoba’s May 1 plan to prioritize work permit holders for provincial nomination under the TPP (now expired). The province previously highlighted the importance of prioritizing TPP-linked candidates, with the May 7 draw also featuring a high TPP share (429 of 906 LAAs).
Maple News observes that Manitoba’s approach underscores a continued emphasis on targeted recruitment channels to accelerate provincial nominations, particularly for temporary workers who have Manitoba ties or eligible work permits.
