Quebec awards 2,555 invitations across PSTQ streams in fourth draw of the year

Maple News reports that on April 30, Quebec’s Ministry of Immigration, Francization and Integration (MIFI) conducted selections across all four streams of the Skilled Worker Selection Program (PSTQ). This marked the fourth PSTQ draw this year.

In total, 2,555 invitations were issued to foreign workers across the four PSTQ streams: Highly Qualified and Specialized Skills, Intermediate and Manual Skills, Regulated Professions, and Exceptional Talent.

Within Stream 1, which targets TEER 0–2 occupations and workers currently residing in Quebec with at least 12 months of work experience, 983 invitations were issued across three exercises. The breakdown for Stream 1 was: Exercise 1 — Quebec diploma (at least 900 hours or 30 credits) with 379 invitations; Exercise 2 — Quebec diploma plus priority occupations with 354 invitations; Exercise 3 — Quebec diploma with 250 invitations.

Criteria varied across the exercises. For Exercise 1, candidates needed a Quebec diploma of at least 900 hours (or 30 credits annually) and a minimum score of 716. The PSTQ program uses a points-based framework and occupation-specific requirements to rank candidates for invitations.

The latest draw reinforces Quebec’s ongoing approach to attracting skilled workers through the PSTQ, reflecting continued demand for talent across a broad range of occupations. Maple News will continue to monitor and report on subsequent PSTQ rounds and their impact on immigration prospects for foreign workers and Quebec employers.
