Maple News reports that Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 2,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) through the Express Entry system in a draw targeting Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates. The eligibility bar required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 515 and an Express Entry profile created before 2:46 a.m. UTC on June 10, 2025.
This draw marks the seventh CEC intake of the year and the 22nd Express Entry invitation round of 2026, underscoring IRCC’s ongoing emphasis on in-country credentials and category-based selections.
Looking at 2026 more broadly, IRCC has continued to prioritize candidates with provincial nominations and Canadian work experience. To date, 61,154 ITAs have been issued across draw types, including 30,250 for the Canadian Experience Class, 18,000 for French-language proficiency, 4,000 for healthcare and social services, 3,263 for Provincial Nominee Program, 3,000 for Trades, 391 for physicians with Canadian work experience, and 250 for senior managers with Canadian work experience.
The mix of draws indicates a sustained strategy of balancing in-country pathways with category-specific rounds, particularly Provincial Nominee Program and CEC invitations, to address regional labor needs and skilled-worker demand.
For applicants, these trends suggest continued value in maintaining an up-to-date profile, pursuing provincial nomination opportunities where possible, and aligning qualifications with in-demand occupations. Maple News will continue to monitor developments in Express Entry and provide updates as new draws are announced.
