Manitoba Targets Talent Through Strategic PNP Draw, Issues 47 Invitations

Maple News reports that Manitoba wrapped up January 2026 by issuing 47 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) under its Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP), targeting candidates through strategic recruitment initiatives. Draw #263, held on January 29, focused exclusively on individuals previously invited through MPNP’s targeted outreach, continuing the province’s efforts to meet specific labor market and demographic needs.

Unlike general EOI selections that prioritize top point earners, this draw concentrated on key recruitment streams. Employer Services remained the leading source of invitations, accounting for 24 LAAs. Notably, there was an uptick in selections through the Temporary Public Policy (TPP), with 14 invitations issued—up significantly from just 3 earlier in January. This federal policy enables employers to hire workers more flexibly while facilitating their pathways to permanent residence.

Other strategic initiatives contributing to the draw include regional community support (4 LAAs), invitations for Francophone talent (3 LAAs), and ethnocultural community ties (2 LAAs). These selections reflect Manitoba’s broader goal of strengthening rural communities and enhancing demographic diversity across the province.

Of the total 47 invited candidates, six had valid Express Entry profiles. With a provincial nomination, these individuals will receive an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points, virtually guaranteeing an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in a future federal Express Entry draw.

The draw underscores Manitoba’s continued emphasis on qualifications and program compliance. Only candidates working in regulated occupations who could provide proof of full licensure in Manitoba were considered. The province also issued a reminder: applicants whose LAAs were not issued should verify the accuracy and validity of their Expression of Interest (EOI) profiles, including language test results and strategic invitation numbers.

As Manitoba adapts its immigration strategy to reflect real-time labor needs, these focused PNP draws serve a dual purpose: they help fill essential jobs across the province while granting skilled individuals a streamlined path to Canadian permanent residency.
