Alberta Conducts Largest Immigration Draw of 2025, Extends 683 Invitations Across Key Streams

According to Maple News, Alberta has conducted its largest immigration draw of 2025 through the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP), issuing a total of 683 invitations across three separate draws held between August 7 and August 15.

The most significant draw occurred on August 12, when 581 candidates were invited under the Alberta Opportunity Stream. This stream is specifically designed for temporary foreign workers already employed full-time in Alberta with a job offer in an eligible occupation. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score required for this draw was 70, highlighting Alberta’s continued demand for skilled labor.

In addition to the Opportunity Stream, Alberta also issued targeted invitations through its Dedicated Healthcare Pathway, part of the province’s ongoing efforts to address critical staffing shortages in the health sector. Two draws were held on August 7 and August 15 for healthcare professionals, inviting a total of 102 candidates. This included 63 candidates under the Express Entry-aligned stream with a minimum score of 56, and 39 through the non-Express Entry route with a minimum score of 53.

The Dedicated Healthcare Pathway offers a route to permanent residence for foreign-trained health professionals who have a valid job offer from an Alberta employer. Candidates can qualify through either the federal Express Entry system or a separate non-Express Entry process, depending on their individual profiles and qualifications.

The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program continues to play a pivotal role in addressing the province’s labor market needs, offering pathways for both skilled workers and healthcare professionals to settle and contribute to local economies.

These recent draws reflect Alberta’s intensified efforts in 2025 to attract talent across diverse sectors, while also taking advantage of its provincial nomination authority to respond to real-time labor shortages.

Maple News will continue to provide updates on upcoming provincial draws and immigration developments across Canada.
