According to Maple News, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued 503 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates in the latest Express Entry draw held in June. To qualify, candidates were required to have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 742 and must have submitted their Express Entry profile before 9:44 p.m. UTC on May 30, 2025.
This draw marks the third round of invitations this week and the fifth so far in June. It follows a Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draw on June 12 that invited 3,000 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 529. Earlier in the week, IRCC invited 125 PNP candidates on June 10 with a higher cut-off CRS score of 784. Another category-specific draw on June 4 focused on healthcare and social service professionals.
In total, IRCC has issued 38,845 ITAs through the Express Entry system in 2025. The majority of those have gone to PNP candidates, reflecting a strong focus on regional immigration programs that support provincial labour market needs.
So far this year, 10 Express Entry draws have been PNP-specific, followed by 5 for CEC applicants, 3 for candidates with French-language proficiency, 2 targeting healthcare and social services workers, and 1 focused on education professionals. This marks a continuing trend in IRCC’s use of category-based selections to align immigration with labour market strategies and demographic goals.
Express Entry remains Canada’s flagship system for skilled immigration, allowing candidates to be selected from a federal pool based on factors such as age, work experience, education, and language ability. Those who receive a provincial nomination are awarded an additional 600 CRS points, significantly increasing their chances of receiving an ITA.
Candidates who receive an ITA must submit a complete application for permanent residence (PR) within 60 days. Once submitted, they officially become applicants in the immigration process, and their profiles are processed based on IRCC’s service standards.
The frequent draws show that IRCC is maintaining an active pattern of selecting skilled migrants across diverse occupational and regional categories. PNP streams, in particular, continue to play a vital role in distributing immigration across Canada’s provinces and territories, helping to address regional talent shortages and demographic needs.
Maple News will continue to track the latest developments in Express Entry and Canada’s broader immigration landscape.
