Manitoba Welcomes Skilled Workers in Latest Provincial Nominee Program Draw

Maple News reports that Manitoba continues to demonstrate consistency in its immigration efforts, holding yet another Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw in 2025. The most recent draw, held on May 1, targeted skilled workers from abroad through the Skilled Worker Overseas stream of the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP).

In this draw, Manitoba issued 26 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to candidates who were invited under a strategic recruitment initiative—demonstrating the province’s ongoing commitment to bridging labor gaps by connecting with foreign talent suited to Manitoba’s economic needs.

To be eligible for the May 1 selection round, applicants not only had to meet the standard requirements of the Skilled Worker Overseas stream but also needed a minimum ranking score of 727 to receive an invitation. Among the 26 individuals invited, 7 had valid Express Entry profiles and Job Seeker Validation Codes, indicating a strategic alignment with Canada’s broader immigration goals.

Strategic recruitment initiatives play a pivotal role in helping Manitoba employers source talent for hard-to-fill roles. These programs facilitate partnerships between employers and the province to identify suitable international candidates. Once vetted through Manitoba’s recruitment framework, these candidates can be nominated under the Skilled Worker Overseas stream.

This proactive approach allows Manitoba to target qualified professionals whose skill sets align with the province’s labor market demands—especially in high-demand sectors such as health care, IT, transportation, and skilled trades.

Manitoba’s consistent draws underscore the province’s role in sustaining immigration momentum nationwide. While some provinces have been less active, Manitoba’s ongoing draws offer foreign skilled workers new pathways to Canadian permanent residency.

For aspiring immigrants, keeping a strong profile with high points and aligning with Manitoba’s strategic recruitment drives can significantly boost their chances of receiving an invitation. The added connection to Express Entry also enhances application processing timelines, offering faster routes to permanent settlement in the province.

Maple News will continue to monitor and report on upcoming MPNP draws and program developments across Canadian provinces in 2025.
