Manitoba Issues 375 Invitations in Latest Provincial Nominee Draw

Maple News reports that Manitoba has invited 375 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). The latest draw, held on July 29, comes just two days after the province conducted its largest draw on record, signaling Manitoba’s continued demand for skilled newcomers.

The invited candidates are now eligible to apply for a provincial nomination, a key step toward obtaining Canadian permanent residency. If successful, nominees will receive additional points through Canada’s federal Express Entry system, significantly enhancing their chances of being invited to apply for permanent residence.

The breakdown of the draw is as follows:
– Skilled Workers in Manitoba: 285 invitations issued with a minimum Expression of Interest (EOI) score of 400
– Skilled Workers Overseas: 47 invitations with a minimum EOI score of 708
– International Education Stream: 43 invitations issued, with no EOI score requirement

Of the total 375 invitations, 42 were issued to candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile and job seeker validation code, making them eligible under the federal immigration framework.

Manitoba operates its immigration programs through the MPNP, designed to align with local economic needs and support the federal application process. While provinces cannot issue permanent residency, they can nominate candidates who demonstrate strong potential to contribute to the local labor market and community.

To become eligible for selection via MPNP, candidates must first submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). These are scored out of 1,000 points based on factors such as work experience, education, language proficiency, and connections to Manitoba.

The Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream targets individuals already employed in the province under a full-time, permanent position. Meanwhile, the Skilled Workers Overseas stream prioritizes candidates with strong connections to Manitoba, including family ties, prior residence, or participation in strategic recruitment initiatives.

Additionally, the International Education Stream offers pathways for international graduates from Manitoba institutions who meet industry-specific criteria—an effort to retain global talent trained in the province.

Maple News continues to monitor and report on evolving provincial nominee programs across Canada, ensuring immigrants and stakeholders stay informed of new opportunities.
