Saskatchewan SINP Opens Second Intake Window for Capped Sectors, Allocating 400 Nomination Spots

Maple News reports that the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) has opened its second intake window for capped-sector applications. Beginning March 2, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. EST, employers in capped sectors may submit applications for SINP candidates in accommodation and food services, retail trade, and trucking.

The window is capped at 400 positions across all three sectors, 100 more than the first intake, which opened January 13.

As of now, accommodation and food services and trucking have already met their per-sector caps, leaving 40 positions available in retail trade.

For this intake, the SINP has set per-sector caps at 240 positions for accommodation and food services, 80 for retail trade, and 80 for trucking.

The rise in available spots for the second intake follows the rapid cap attainment seen in the first intake, with accommodation and food services hitting its cap on day one, and the remaining sectors filling within a week.

For capped sectors, employers may submit applications only for candidates whose work permits will expire within six months or less.

Maple News notes that the SINP is part of Saskatchewan’s broader effort to address labor shortages in hospitality, retail, and trucking through targeted immigration pathways. We will monitor developments and provide updates as the intake progresses.
