Saskatchewan Invites 551 Skilled Candidates in Latest Provincial Nominee Draw

Maple News reports that Saskatchewan conducted a new round of invitations through its immigration system on November 19, selecting a total of 551 skilled candidates to apply for a provincial nomination through the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP).

The invitations went to applicants in two subcategories of the International Skilled Worker stream: Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand. This draw specifically targeted candidates with experience in occupations facing labour shortages in the province.

In this round, 214 invitations were issued to candidates already in the federal Express Entry pool. These individuals needed to have an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile with Saskatchewan and a minimum score of 78 on the SINP’s points assessment grid—a separate benchmark from the federal Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). Eligible candidates were also required to have completed an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) and hold work experience in one of 56 specified occupations.

Meanwhile, the remaining 337 invitations were extended to individuals under the Occupations In-Demand subcategory. These candidates also needed to meet the ECA requirement and have relevant experience across 75 eligible occupations identified by Saskatchewan’s labour market needs.

The SINP’s points-based EOI system ranks candidates based on five key factors: age, education, language proficiency, work experience, and ties to the province. Those with the highest scores are invited to apply for a provincial nomination, which can significantly boost their chances of securing permanent residency in Canada.

Saskatchewan continues to align its nominee program with both provincial economic demands and federal immigration goals. For Express Entry candidates who receive a provincial nomination, an additional 600 points are added to their federal CRS score, virtually guaranteeing an invitation to apply for permanent residence in a subsequent federal draw.

The SINP remains a popular immigration pathway for skilled professionals seeking to settle in Saskatchewan, especially due to its targeted approach, regional focus, and expedited processing through the Express Entry-aligned stream.

Maple News encourages professionals interested in Saskatchewan’s draws to stay updated, as regular invitation rounds are critical opportunities for skilled workers aiming to immigrate to Canada under a provincial nomination route.
