Maple News reports that the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) conducted its largest draw of the year on November 18, issuing a total of 633 invitations to prospective immigrants. This marks a significant resurgence in provincial nominee activity following a nearly two-month pause in draws.
The invitations were extended through two key streams under SINP’s International Skilled Worker category: Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand. Of the total, 425 candidates were targeted through the Express Entry stream, while the remaining 208 were selected under the Occupations In-Demand pathway. All applicants had Expression of Interest (EOI) scores of at least 65 points.
Both streams required candidates to hold valid Educational Credential Assessments (ECA), confirming that their foreign academic qualifications are equivalent to Canadian standards. Additionally, candidates had to have work experience in one of 14 eligible occupations, specific to each sub-category. The complete list is available through the Government of Saskatchewan.
The SINP Express Entry stream is aligned with Canada’s federal Express Entry system, which manages applications for three major economic-class programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class. Candidates in this pool who receive a provincial nomination from Saskatchewan gain an additional 600 points in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), effectively guaranteeing them an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence.
This latest draw reflects Saskatchewan’s ongoing efforts to attract skilled talent aligned with labour market demands. For international professionals seeking a pathway to Canadian permanent residency, provincial nominee programs such as SINP present a vital opportunity—especially for those already in the Express Entry pool.
According to Maple News, the province continues to prioritize economic migration categories to address labour shortages and support its economic growth, offering a strong incentive for qualified foreign workers who meet eligibility criteria in targeted sectors.
