Québec Launches Enhanced Portal to Help Employers Recruit Immigrant Talent

Maple News reports that Québec has unveiled a new feature in its Employer Portal aimed at streamlining the hiring of skilled immigrants. This enhanced tool enables businesses to connect with candidates already in Québec or abroad through Arrima, the province’s immigration management platform.

Announced by Nadine Girault, Québec’s Minister of Immigration, Francisation and Integration, the feature became available to registered businesses on November 5. The updated portal offers a more interactive and user-friendly interface, allowing employers to search for potential hires using customized criteria, view real-time results, and filter favorites for follow-up.

Through the platform, Québec-based companies can target a broad pool of talent, including newly graduated international students with post-graduation work permits, temporary or permanent foreign workers, and immigrants already residing in Québec from ethnocultural minority groups.

“By making immigrant profiles accessible to employers, the portal allows them to quickly identify candidates that match their exact workforce requirements,” stated the Ministry of Immigration in a communiqué.

The tool also enables businesses to download search results, build candidate lists, and reach out to individuals directly, significantly reducing the time and complexity typically involved in cross-border hiring.

An added benefit is the personalized guidance provided by regional advisors from Québec’s Ministry of Immigration. These advisors assist employers in selecting the proper immigration pathways for candidates and support them throughout the recruitment and immigration process. This service is available throughout all administrative regions of Québec.

Originally launched in June 2019, the Employer Portal has served as a free resource for Québec businesses seeking government-supported immigration assistance. The latest update, focused on self-service and profile matching, marks a significant expansion in functionality.

To access the portal, companies must first create an account in Arrima. Once registered, they can request support online. Within five business days, they receive tailored advice from a government advisor and can begin utilizing the full features of the portal.

This development reflects Québec’s effort to better align immigration with labor market priorities, especially amid an ongoing demand for skilled workers in multiple sectors. With this new capability, the province strengthens its commitment to attracting and integrating international talent efficiently.
