Maple News reports that Prince Edward Island has officially released its remaining Expression of Interest (EOI) draw schedule for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) for 2025. Unlike many other Canadian provinces, PEI stands out by publishing a transparent calendar of anticipated draws in advance.
According to the PEI PNP, the four remaining draws for this year are planned for:
– September 18, 2025
– October 16, 2025
– November 20, 2025
– December 18, 2025
The province notes that these dates are tentative and represent an “Anticipated Invitation to Apply schedule.” While PEI has consistently adhered to its schedule so far in 2025—holding all seven of its previous draws as planned—there is no official guarantee that future rounds will proceed exactly on the stated dates.
Candidates wishing to be considered for PEI’s PNP must submit an EOI, which remains valid in the province’s intake system for six months. EOIs are evaluated based on current program requirements, candidate profiles, and the availability of nomination spaces.
This year, PEI’s nomination capacity was significantly reduced. As part of federal adjustments to provincial quotas, PEI received 1,025 nomination allocations for 2025—a notable reduction from previous years. As of now, the province has issued 792 Invitations to Apply (ITAs). However, an ITA does not equate to a nomination. Factors such as eligibility reviews, program priorities, and processing delays can affect the final issuance of nominations.
Maple News notes that PEI’s proactive approach to publishing PNP draw schedules reflects its commitment to transparency and strategic immigration planning. For prospective applicants, monitoring these draw dates and maintaining an up-to-date EOI profile can significantly enhance their chances of receiving an invitation.
As Canada’s immigration landscape continues to evolve, provinces like PEI are balancing limited quotas with ongoing labor market needs. Applicants are encouraged to stay informed and act promptly to take advantage of these provincial opportunities.
