Maple News reports that Newfoundland and Labrador issued 125 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residence in its most recent immigration draw held on October 9, 2025. The invitations were sent out through the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) and the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP).
This draw marks the eleventh round conducted by the province’s Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism (OIM) in 2025, bringing the total number of ITAs issued this year to 2,946. The province continues to attract skilled workers aligned with its labour market needs and long-term economic development strategy.
In this round, 73 ITAs were issued under the NLPNP, while 52 were distributed through the AIP. Although the OIM did not specify which particular streams within the NLPNP these invitations came from, the selection process remains focused on sectors where the province faces talent shortages.
To be eligible for either program, candidates must hold a valid job or job offer from an employer based in Newfoundland and Labrador. The province prioritizes Expressions of Interest (EOIs) that meet its key economic and labour market goals.
Candidates chosen under the NLPNP receive their invitations via email and are required to complete and submit their applications for nomination through the Immigration Accelerator portal. For those invited via the AIP, designated employers are responsible for submitting a job offer endorsement application after receiving a formal confirmation letter through the same portal.
It’s important to note that all applicants — except for those already in Canada applying through the NLPNP — must first be provided an invite code from their employer before submitting an Expression of Interest.
These ongoing provincial draws are part of Newfoundland and Labrador’s strategic approach to attract and retain newcomers who can contribute to the province’s economic and demographic growth. Maple News will continue monitoring new draws and program updates as they unfold.
