Maple News: British Columbia PNP Invites Entrepreneurs in Dual-Stream Draw

Maple News reports that British Columbia’s Provincial Nominee Program conducted a recent selection round under its Entrepreneur Immigration (EI) Program, inviting candidates to apply for provincial nomination through both the Base and Regional streams. Invitations were extended to qualified entrepreneurs aiming to start a new business or acquire and grow an existing BC enterprise.

On March 10, 2026, the BC PNP issued invitations through its EI program’s two entrepreneur streams. The Base stream carried a minimum score of 117 and issued seven invitations, while the Regional stream required a minimum score of 129 and issued five invitations.

So far in 2026, BC PNP has held five entrepreneur draws, delivering no fewer than 29 invitations to apply (ITAs) to business candidates.

In the same year, BC conducted two Skills Immigration draws (February 11 and February 4), which collectively issued 889 invitations. The pattern this year continues the province’s approach of frequent EI draws, with the bulk of ITAs coming from SI draws.

Who receives ITAs under the entrepreneur streams? The Base EI stream targets experienced entrepreneurs who want to start a new business or purchase an existing one in British Columbia, without a mandatory community referral. Businesses can be located anywhere in the province. The Base stream generally has higher financial requirements than the Regional stream, with a minimum net worth of $600,000 and a $200,000 investment.
