Maple News reports that Manitoba’s Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) issued 72 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) on February 26, 2026, through the Skilled Worker stream’s two pathways: Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas. The invitations targeted candidates in Manitoba and abroad who stated they were directly invited by the MPNP via a strategic recruitment initiative.
The LAAs were distributed across five strategic recruitment initiatives, with 55% issued through Employer Services. The breakdown: Employer Services — 40 LAAs; Francophone Community — 5; Regional Communities — 8; Ethnocultural Communities — 12; Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates (TPP) — 7.
Of the 72 LAAs, 11 were issued to candidates who provided a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.
Manitoba emphasized that EOIs under the Skilled Worker Stream are considered only when the candidate is directly invited via a strategic recruitment initiative or through the Temporary Public Policy. The Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Open Work Permits for certain Provincial Nominee Program candidates was a temporary measure that ended on December 31, 2025. Manitoba had previously accepted new Support Letter applications under the TPP until December 15, 2025, with the online form closing December 16, 2025.
The latest draw highlights Manitoba’s ongoing reliance on employer-driven recruitment and targeted outreach to meet local labor needs. Maple News will continue to monitor Manitoba’s immigration programs and provide updates on invitation cycles and eligibility requirements.
