Maple News reports that Manitoba has conducted its 17th immigration draw of the year, selecting skilled workers through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). Held on August 21, the draw issued a total of 77 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to candidates under the Skilled Worker Stream.
Applicants were selected based on several criteria, including their professional experience, Expression of Interest (EOI) scores, and their participation in designated strategic recruitment initiatives. This draw exclusively invited candidates who had been directly approached by the MPNP as part of these targeted efforts.
Of the 77 LAAs issued, 18 were extended to candidates who included a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code. The lowest-ranked candidate selected had an EOI score of 612, maintaining Manitoba’s steady trend of prioritizing experienced candidates with strong credentials.
The Skilled Worker Stream—comprising the Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas categories—remains a vital pathway for prospective immigrants seeking to settle and contribute to Manitoba’s workforce and communities.
Strategic recruitment initiatives played a significant role in this draw. Of the total invitations issued:
– 31 were directed to individuals connected to Regional Communities,
– 29 to those in the Francophone Community,
– 11 through Ethnocultural Community initiatives,
– and 6 via the Employer Services stream.
These targeted categories reflect the province’s commitment to attracting immigrants who can meet the unique needs of Manitoba’s labour market and cultural landscape. The draw continues to underscore Manitoba’s proactive approach to regional immigration, supporting both economic growth and demographic diversity.
The MPNP remains a key pathway for skilled workers aiming to secure permanent residency in Canada, particularly those who align with Manitoba’s evolving workforce demands.
For prospective candidates, staying informed about strategic initiatives and maintaining a strong Express Entry profile can improve the chances of receiving an LAA in future draws.
