Maple News reports that Manitoba has kicked off the month of August with its latest round of immigration invitations through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). Held on August 7, Expression of Interest (EOI) Draw #251 focused on candidates applying under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas streams.
A total of 37 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) were issued in this invitation round. Candidates needed to meet a minimum score of 724 under the MPNP’s unique points-based system. Additionally, all invitees were selected through Manitoba’s strategic recruitment initiatives—special programs designed to target workers in high-demand roles.
The breakdown of this draw shows a strong emphasis on addressing labour market needs across various communities:
– 15 LAAs were issued through Employer Services,
– 19 to members of the Francophone community,
– 2 under Ethnocultural Communities,
– and 1 to a candidate representing a Regional Community.
Notably, seven of the 37 invited candidates had active Express Entry profiles and job seeker validation codes, indicating their potential eligibility for faster federal immigration processing.
The MPNP emphasized that some candidates who met the cut-off score did not receive an invitation due to incomplete information in their profiles. Common errors include outdated language test results or missing invitation reference numbers in the EOI system.
Strategic recruitment initiatives play a vital role in Manitoba’s immigration strategy. These programs allow the province to partner with employers and community groups to find talent that directly aligns with local workforce needs. In doing so, Manitoba helps address persistent labour shortages while offering skilled workers a clear and supportive pathway to permanent residency in Canada.
This draw marks Manitoba’s continued commitment to meeting its economic and demographic goals through targeted immigration efforts—efforts that not only benefit the province’s labour market but also offer meaningful opportunities for skilled newcomers around the world.
