Manitoba Issues 206 Invitations in Latest Provincial Nominee Draw

Maple News reports that the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) has invited 206 candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence in its most recent draw held on October 22.

This draw targeted candidates across three key immigration streams: Skilled Workers in Manitoba, Skilled Workers Overseas, and the International Education Stream. The largest share—161 invitations, officially referred to as Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs)—were issued under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba category. Candidates in this stream required a minimum Expression of Interest (EOI) score of 375.

For the Skilled Workers Overseas stream, 15 invitations were issued with a significantly higher minimum score requirement of 771. These individuals were selected specifically through Manitoba’s strategic recruitment initiatives. Meanwhile, 30 LAAs were extended under the International Education Stream, which does not have a minimum EOI score threshold.

Of the 206 total invitations, 22 were allocated to candidates who also have active profiles in Canada’s federal Express Entry pool. However, the MPNP cautioned that any Express Entry candidate who fails to provide a valid Express Entry ID, job seeker validation code, or verifiable experience in a Manitoba in-demand occupation could be disqualified.

The program also reiterated the importance of maintaining accurate documentation. Candidates with invalid or expired language test scores, or failing to provide appropriate recruitment codes if selected through a strategic initiative, may have missed out on selection in this draw. These applicants are encouraged to update their EOI profiles as needed for consideration in future rounds.

Additionally, the MPNP included individuals employed in regulated occupations. However, candidates who are not actively working in such occupations or who cannot show evidence of proper licensing may also face rejection. In such cases, the provincial program advises declining the invitation to apply.

This draw brings the total number of invitations issued by Manitoba in 2023 to 4,068, underscoring the province’s sustained commitment to attracting skilled talent to address labor market demands.

Maple News will continue to monitor updates from provincial nomination programs across Canada.
