Manitoba Issues 189 Invitations in Latest Provincial Nominee Draw

Maple News reports that the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) has issued 189 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) in its latest invitation round, reinforcing the province’s commitment to attracting skilled talent and international graduates to contribute to its growing economy.

The invitations were issued across three MPNP streams: Skilled Workers in Manitoba, Skilled Workers Overseas, and the International Education Stream. The majority of invitations—160 LAAs—went to skilled workers already living in Manitoba, each requiring a minimum Expression of Interest (EOI) score of 464. Another four candidates were invited under the Skilled Workers Overseas category, with a considerably higher cut-off EOI score of 847. An additional 25 candidates were welcomed through the International Education Stream, which does not impose a minimum EOI score.

This marks the 99th draw since the program launched in April 2014, and brings the total number of invitations issued this year through the MPNP to 3,671. The program continues to support Manitoba’s labor market needs by selecting candidates with strong ties to the province and valuable skillsets.

Notably, 18 of the 189 invitations were issued to candidates with active profiles in the federal Express Entry system, underscoring Manitoba’s alignment with national immigration priorities. These individuals also held valid job seeker validation codes, making them eligible for a provincial nomination that could significantly boost their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores.

Express Entry is Canada’s main platform for managing permanent residence applications in key economic-class immigration programs, namely the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). Candidates are ranked using a CRS score based on factors such as age, education, work experience, and language proficiency.

With Canada aiming to welcome over 465,000 newcomers in 2024, provincial nominee programs like Manitoba’s play a crucial role in meeting regional immigration needs and strengthening local communities. Manitoba’s continued efforts to select high-potential candidates reflect its strategic approach to economic growth and demographic sustainability.

Candidates interested in the MPNP are encouraged to submit an Expression of Interest and monitor upcoming draws, as the province remains actively engaged in attracting both skilled workers and international graduates poised to contribute to its vibrant economy.
