Maple News reports that on November 6, 2025, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) issued 47 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) as part of its first skilled worker draw of the month. The invitations were extended through the program’s Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas streams, targeting candidates who declared they were selected via a strategic recruitment initiative.
This strategic initiative allows the province to proactively identify candidates that align with Manitoba’s labour market requirements. Out of the 47 candidates invited, 10 held valid Express Entry profiles along with job seeker validation codes, highlighting the province’s ongoing coordination with federal immigration processes.
The draw’s distribution of LAAs across specific recruitment priorities underscores Manitoba’s focus on community and sector needs. The breakdown of invitations is as follows: 18 to Francophone community candidates, 12 to candidates from regional communities, 11 through employer services, 4 from ethnocultural communities, and 2 under a temporary public policy aiding work permit facilitation for PNP hopefuls.
This brings Manitoba’s total number of immigration draws in 2025 to 22, signaling the province’s steady commitment to attracting skilled talent from both within Canada and abroad. Candidates able to secure an invitation through strategic initiatives receive a substantial boost of 500 points in their Expression of Interest (EOI) profile, improving their chances of selection.
However, not all candidates who met the criteria received an LAA. According to the MPNP, common disqualifiers include expired or invalid language test scores and the failure to submit a valid invitation number under strategic recruitment. Additionally, while applicants working in regulated occupations were considered, failure to provide evidence of completed provincial licensure steps could result in application refusal.
This attention to regulatory compliance ensures that selected individuals meet the standards necessary to succeed in Manitoba’s job market and integrate effectively into the community.
Manitoba continues to play a vital role in supporting Canada’s immigration goals by strategically selecting candidates who meet specific regional labour needs and contribute to the province’s socio-economic growth.
