Canada’s Innovation Stream: Six Top Tech Firms Now Hiring Through LMIA-Exempt Work Permits

Maple News reports that six leading Canadian tech companies are actively hiring foreign talent through a newly introduced LMIA-exempt work permit program, part of Canada’s Innovation Stream under the Tech Talent Strategy. This new pathway allows skilled international workers to join select Canadian companies without requiring a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA), streamlining the hiring process and strengthening Canada’s position in the global innovation economy.

The Innovation Stream was launched by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) earlier this month, as one of four core initiatives aimed at attracting world-class professionals to Canada’s growing tech industry. The program is tailored for high-potential, high-growth companies that meet predefined eligibility criteria and demonstrate significant contributions to Canada’s economic goals.

Among the eight approved employers, six are currently accepting applications from international candidates. These companies are: Ada Support Inc., AlayaCare, CellCarta, Clarius Mobile Health, Clio, and Lightspeed Commerce. Roles are open in various locations including Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa, and remote settings.

Toronto-based Ada Support Inc. is a leader in AI-driven customer service platforms. Founded in 2016, the company offers benefits such as international remote working options, unlimited vacation days, stock options, and a home office budget. However, certain roles do require residence in specific Canadian provinces.

AlayaCare, headquartered in Montreal, provides cloud-based home healthcare software solutions. With job openings in both Montreal and Toronto, the company continues to grow its engineering and product development teams.

Montreal’s CellCarta is also hiring remotely and locally. Specializing in precision medicine and laboratory testing for clinical trials, the company is seeking scientific professionals and laboratory experts.

Vancouver’s Clarius Mobile Health, which develops handheld ultrasound devices powered by artificial intelligence, boasts one of the highest employee satisfaction scores among the group. The company is known for its innovations in portable diagnostic tools and is currently hiring across several departments.

Clio, based in Burnaby, develops legal practice management software and is hiring in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, and remotely. Recognized for its flexible work culture and strong workplace environment, Clio maintains a reputation as a top employer in Canada’s tech sector.

Lightspeed Commerce, headquartered in Montreal, offers point-of-sale and payments platforms for retailers and restaurants. It is hiring across major Canadian cities including Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, and remotely. The company values innovation, diversity, and collaborative work environments.

Two other companies on the IRCC-approved list—Duchesnay Pharmaceutical Group and Vive Crop Protection—are currently not hiring in Canada but may open positions in the future under the same permit pathway.

Foreign job seekers with tech expertise are encouraged to explore opportunities with these six hiring firms as the Innovation Stream creates a fast track for skilled workers eager to contribute to Canada’s evolving digital economy.
