Maple News reports that Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued 725 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) in its latest Express Entry draw aimed at candidates in the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). The draw, held on June 10, 2025, required applicants to have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 667 and an active Express Entry profile submitted before 6:25 PM UTC on June 5, 2024.
This marks the first Express Entry draw of June and continues a trend in 2025 of targeted selections predominantly focused on PNP and Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates. So far this year, only one category-based draw — emphasizing French language proficiency — has been held.
In total, more than 11,000 candidates have received ITAs through various Express Entry streams since February 2025, signaling an active year for Canada’s flagship immigration system. Notably, recent invitations have targeted applicants from healthcare, education, and social services sectors, aligning with Canada’s labor market needs.
Express Entry continues to serve as a primary immigration pathway for skilled workers, with draws held regularly to invite candidates to apply for permanent residence. In June alone, IRCC issued 125 ITAs on June 10 (PNP draw), 500 ITAs on June 4 (targeting healthcare and social services professionals), and 277 ITAs on June 2 (another PNP draw).
To respond successfully to an ITA, applicants must submit several key documents, including a valid passport, language test results, proof of work experience, and medical and police clearances, among others. Additional documents may be required based on individual profiles, such as educational credentials (including an Education Credential Assessment if studied outside Canada), proof of settlement funds, or letters confirming a job offer from a Canadian employer.
The Express Entry system pools candidates under three main immigration programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class. Candidates with a provincial nomination through the PNP receive an additional 600 points toward their CRS score, significantly boosting their chances of receiving an ITA.
As the Canadian government continues to strategically invite skilled workers to meet demographic and labor force demands, candidates are advised to maintain accurate and up-to-date profiles and monitor monthly draw trends to ensure readiness when an invitation is issued.
Maple News will continue to provide accurate and timely updates on Canada’s immigration system, including developments in Express Entry and related programs.
