Canada Invites More PNP Candidates in Latest Express Entry Draw Under New Immigration Minister

Maple News reports that Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted a new Express Entry draw, issuing 125 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to candidates in the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). This draw, held on June 10, 2025, required candidates to have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 784 and to have submitted their Express Entry profiles before 6:12 p.m. UTC on September 12, 2024.

This marks the third Express Entry draw for June and the third to occur under Canada’s new Immigration Minister, Lena Metlege Diab. The recent draws reflect IRCC’s ongoing focus on category-based selection, a strategy aimed at addressing specific labor market needs and regional priorities.

So far in 2025, Canada has issued 35,342 ITAs through the Express Entry system. Of these, the majority have targeted PNP candidates, followed by applicants under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), French language proficiency, and other priority sectors such as healthcare, education, and social services.

A breakdown of draws in 2025 shows ten draws have been dedicated to PNP candidates, four to CEC applicants, three for French-speaking candidates, two targeting healthcare workers, and one focused on the education sector. This reflects Canada’s strategic and selective approach to immigration amid evolving economic demands.

The latest draw follows two recent ones: 500 ITAs were issued on June 4 for healthcare and social service professionals with a CRS cut-off of 504, and a PNP-focused draw on June 2 invited 277 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 726.

Express Entry candidates are encouraged to keep their profiles updated. Changes are allowed post-submission as long as applicants remain eligible for the program. Updates due to new work experience, higher education, or improved language results can significantly impact a candidate’s CRS score and likelihood of receiving an invitation.

With the Express Entry system continuing to prioritize in-demand skills and provincial alignment, Maple News advises candidates to monitor updates closely and consider pathways like the PNP to enhance their immigration prospects.

This draw underscores the Canadian government’s commitment to attracting skilled newcomers who can contribute to regional economies and support the country’s post-pandemic recovery and long-term growth.
