British Columbia Launches 2026 with Entrepreneur Immigration Draw

British Columbia has kicked off the year with a new round of invitations through its Entrepreneur Immigration Program, reflecting the province’s ongoing commitment to welcoming innovative business owners who can contribute to economic growth and job creation.

According to Maple News, the latest draw was held on January 13, 2026, under the Base stream of the BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP). A total of seven invitations were issued to applicants who met the minimum required score of 115.

The Base stream targets seasoned entrepreneurs capable of starting or acquiring businesses in British Columbia. Unlike the province’s Regional Entrepreneur stream, the Base stream does not require a community referral and typically involves more substantial financial criteria, including a minimum net worth of around CAD $600,000 and an eligible investment of at least CAD $200,000.

Throughout 2025, BC conducted ten draws under this stream, resulting in at least 93 invitations to apply (ITAs). This consistency highlights the province’s strategy to prioritize entrepreneurs who bring both financial capital and managerial expertise into BC’s economy.

The province continues to use its Provincial Nominee Program as a tool to support economic development in key sectors and communities across British Columbia. By encouraging entrepreneurs to establish or expand operations, the program supports the creation of new local jobs and long-term economic sustainability.

The Entrepreneur Immigration Base stream remains an attractive pathway for experienced business professionals seeking to establish themselves in Canada through enterprise. With its robust infrastructure, supportive regulatory environment, and high quality of life, British Columbia presents a compelling destination for global entrepreneurs.

This latest draw marks the first of its kind in 2026 and signals British Columbia’s clear intent to maintain a strong pipeline of business immigration through its PNP channels.

Maple News will continue to monitor and report on developments in BC’s immigration programs as more details emerge throughout the year.
