Maple News reports that the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) invited 360 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residence in a draw held on November 25.
Invitations were issued through both the Express Entry BC (EEBC) and Skills Immigration streams, targeting applicants across several key subcategories: Skilled Worker, International Graduate, and Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled.
To qualify in this round, candidates needed to meet the following minimum provincial scores:
– Skills Immigration – Skilled Worker: 93 points
– Skills Immigration – International Graduate: 94 points
– Skills Immigration – Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled: 75 points
– Express Entry BC – Skilled Worker: 92 points
– Express Entry BC – International Graduate: 93 points
These draws are part of the BC PNP’s regular efforts to attract skilled professionals and graduates who have in-demand expertise and can contribute to the province’s economic growth. British Columbia typically issues invitations through its PNP streams on a weekly basis.
To be considered, candidates must first register with the BC PNP’s online portal and create a profile under the Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS). Candidates are assigned a score based on key selection factors such as education, language proficiency, professional experience, and the job location in B.C.
Successful nominees through the provincial program can then apply for Canadian permanent residence through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Those selected through Express Entry BC also receive an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points, significantly increasing their chances of securing an invitation to apply in future federal Express Entry rounds.
These provincial draws align with British Columbia’s broader strategy to address labor market needs by welcoming international talent who demonstrate strong prospects for long-term success in the province.
