Alberta Issues 899 Invitations Across Two AAIP Draws, Marking Strong Start to 2026 Immigration

Maple News reports that the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) conducted two draws on February 20 and February 24, 2026, issuing a total of 899 invitations to prospective newcomers, marking the province’s 11th and 12th provincial immigration draws of 2026.

The two draws included the first Alberta Opportunity Stream priority-sectors draw and the year’s first Tourism and Hospitality Stream draw.

Invitation details varied by stream: the Tourism and Hospitality Stream draw on February 24 issued 68 invitations with a minimum score of 73.

The Alberta Opportunity Stream – Priority Sectors draw on February 20 issued 831 invitations with a minimum score of 56.

Provincial nomination figures for 2026: As of February 26, AAIP had issued 612 nominations against a federal allocation of 6,403, leaving 5,791 nominations to be issued in 2026. The program is processing 1,032 applications that could count toward future nominations if not refused.

As of February 26, the AAIP reported 45,698 worker expressions of interest in the candidate pool across all streams and pathways. Maple News will continue to monitor developments in Alberta’s AAIP.
