Alberta Fulfills 2025 PNP Nomination Quota with Final Draws Focused on Healthcare

Maple News reports that the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) has officially reached its full 2025 nomination allocation after conducting its final two invitation rounds in November. These draws, aimed specifically at healthcare professionals, marked the conclusion of Alberta’s immigration nominations for the year.

The province issued a total of 107 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) in the final draws held on November 21 and 24. Both rounds targeted individuals under the Dedicated Healthcare Pathway, with 68 invitations issued under the Express Entry stream and 39 under the non-Express Entry stream. Each draw had a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement of 49.

With these draws, Alberta reached and slightly surpassed its revised 2025 allocation cap of 6,603 nominations, ultimately issuing 6,750 nominations. According to AAIP, this small overage was permissible under administrative provisions allowed by the federal government for Express Entry-linked nominations.

Alberta began 2025 with an initial federal allocation of 4,875 nominations. However, due to mid-year adjustments, it received an increase of 1,728 additional spots. This boost enabled the province to expand its outreach across multiple key sectors, including rural occupations, the tech industry, healthcare, tourism, and entrepreneurship.

In terms of distribution, the Alberta Opportunity Stream received the highest number of nominations at 3,712. This was followed by the Rural Renewal Stream with 1,040 nominations and the Alberta Express Entry Stream, which collectively issued 1,118 nominations across its subcategories, including the Accelerated Tech Pathway (452 nominations), law enforcement (23), and priority sectors (643).

Healthcare remained a key focus in 2025, with 563 nominations going to the Dedicated Healthcare Pathways across both the Express Entry and non-Express Entry categories. Meanwhile, 294 nominations supported the growing Tourism and Hospitality sector, and 23 entrepreneurs received support to establish or grow businesses in the province.

Reaching its full nomination quota underscores Alberta’s strategic efforts to address labor market needs in high-demand sectors and attract skilled talent to the province. With its 2025 allocation now completed, applicants interested in the AAIP will need to watch for updates regarding the 2026 nomination cycle.

Maple News will continue to monitor and report on new developments in Alberta’s immigration pathways and provincial nominee program allocations nationwide.
