New Brunswick Issues Over 500 PNP Invitations in October Draws Across Key Immigration Streams

Maple News reports that between October 6 and 9, 2023, the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NB PNP) held three separate immigration draws, extending a total of 522 invitations to candidates under its Express Entry and Skilled Worker streams.

These invitations were targeted at candidates with either existing employment in the province or those working in high-priority occupations. Notably, 221 invitations were issued through the New Brunswick Express Entry stream’s Employment in New Brunswick pathway, open to candidates working in any sector. This stream is intended for skilled foreign workers already in the federal Express Entry pool who have secured a job in New Brunswick.

The remaining invitations—totaling 301—were likely distributed via the Skilled Worker stream, which prioritizes individuals employed in sectors facing labour shortages or economic demand in the province. While specific sector details for the Skilled Worker stream were not released, the draw underscores New Brunswick’s active efforts to attract and retain international talent to support its labour market.

The cut-off for applications considered in these draws was set at 11:59 p.m. Atlantic Standard Time on October 5. However, the province clarified that not all submitted applications will necessarily be processed within 2025, prompting applicants to remain patient as timelines unfold.

Unlike some provincial nominee draws, New Brunswick did not disclose minimum eligibility scores for this round, reflecting a targeted approach instead of one based solely on ranking.

The New Brunswick Express Entry stream continues to serve as a critical access point for skilled individuals seeking immigration to Canada through a provincial nomination. A provincial nomination under this stream can significantly strengthen a candidate’s profile in the federal Express Entry system by adding 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points, nearly guaranteeing an invitation to apply for permanent residence.

With labour markets evolving rapidly, Maple News anticipates continued activity from New Brunswick and other provinces using their PNPs to align immigration with regional needs. Candidates meeting job and sector-specific criteria are encouraged to monitor future provincial draws and ensure their profiles remain up to date.

For those interested in the New Brunswick PNP or other pathways to Canadian immigration, staying informed on draw schedules, eligibility requirements, and sectoral needs remains key to success.
