Newfoundland and Labrador Issues 125 Invitations to Skilled Workers in Latest Immigration Draw

Maple News reports that Newfoundland and Labrador has invited 125 applicants to apply for Canadian permanent residence in its latest immigration draw, held on October 9, 2025. The invitations were distributed through two key immigration streams: the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) and the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP).

Of the total invitations issued, 73 were through the NLPNP, while the remaining 52 were under the AIP. Both programs aim to address the province’s labour market needs by targeting candidates with in-demand skills, especially in sectors like healthcare, information technology, and skilled trades.

The NLPNP allows Newfoundland and Labrador to nominate individuals who possess the qualifications and experience that align with the province’s economic needs. It includes several streams such as Express Entry Skilled Worker, Skilled Worker, International Graduate, International Graduate Entrepreneur, and International Entrepreneur. These pathways are designed to attract both local graduates and foreign talent who are ready to contribute to the local economy.

The Atlantic Immigration Program, a partnership between the federal government and Canada’s Atlantic provinces, enables employers in Newfoundland and Labrador to hire skilled foreign workers and international graduates. AIP simplifies the immigration process for employers and applicants alike, supporting regional economic development and population growth.

This latest draw underscores the province’s continued efforts to fill persistent labour gaps and boost long-term economic growth. Newfoundland and Labrador, like many regions in Canada, is experiencing demographic shifts and workforce shortages that immigration is helping to address.

As immigration remains a cornerstone of Canada’s growth strategy, provincial draws like these are crucial in ensuring local economies can access the talent they need to thrive. Skilled workers interested in settling in Newfoundland and Labrador are encouraged to explore eligibility under the available streams.

Maple News will continue to monitor provincial draws and provide updates as new rounds are announced.
