Manitoba Invites 862 Skilled Workers in Latest PNP Draw Focused on Health and Caregiving Sectors

Maple News reports that the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) has invited 862 skilled worker candidates in its latest draw, held on October 9, 2025. This draw focused primarily on those with employment in healthcare and caregiving sectors, underlining the province’s ongoing labor market needs.

The invitations, known as Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs), were distributed under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas pathways. This draw, labeled Draw #255, was Manitoba’s first round of invitations for the month.

A major portion of the invitations—583 LAAs—were issued through an occupation-specific selection. These were directed at candidates currently employed in Manitoba in positions classified under the National Occupation Classification (NOC) code 44101, which includes home support workers, caregivers, and related roles. Candidates working in broader health occupations under NOC category 3 were also considered.

The MPNP continues to prioritize sectors where skilled talent is urgently needed, particularly within Manitoba’s healthcare infrastructure. This strategy not only supports long-term employment for newcomers but also bolsters the province’s public services.

In addition to the occupation-specific draw, the province issued 279 LAAs through strategic recruitment initiatives, targeting candidates both within and outside of Manitoba. These initiatives included Employer Services (45 LAAs), the Francophone Community (43 LAAs), Regional Communities (8 LAAs), and Ethnocultural Communities (3 LAAs).

The largest subset—180 LAAs—was allocated through a Temporary Public Policy (TPP) designed to facilitate work permits for potential PNP nominees. This temporary provision aims to give more flexibility to candidates waiting for nomination but already contributing to the province’s labor market.

Manitoba’s focus on both immediate labor needs and long-term settlement strategies demonstrates the province’s proactive approach to economic immigration. By recognizing essential workers and targeting underrepresented communities, the MPNP reinforces Manitoba’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable immigration.

As always, Maple News will continue to provide updates on provincial and federal immigration trends and policies that shape the future of new Canadians.
