New Brunswick Issues Over 1,050 Immigration Invitations in Targeted PNP Draws

Maple News reports that New Brunswick has conducted a series of targeted immigration draws through its Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), issuing a total of 1,052 invitations between August 11 and August 19, 2025. These draws were part of the province’s strategic approach to aligning immigration with specific labour market needs and regional demographic goals.

The majority of invitations—481—were issued through the Skilled Worker Stream’s Experience Pathway. This draw targeted candidates with recent work experience in key sectors such as health care, education, community services, and the construction trades. Notably, occupations under NOC 42201 (social and community service workers) and NOC 75101 (material handlers) were excluded from this round. Eligible candidates were required to submit their profiles by August 10, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. AST to be considered.

Another 389 invitations were sent out through the Graduates Pathway, specifically aimed at recent graduates from recognized New Brunswick post-secondary institutions. While the stream welcomed applicants from all sectors, it similarly excluded candidates with work experience under NOC 42201, NOC 62200 (chefs), and NOC 75101.

Supporting the province’s bilingual identity, a further 132 invitations were issued under the Francophone Candidates Pathway, a sub-stream of the Skilled Worker category. This draw focused on French-speaking candidates across various sectors, while also excluding the same three NOC codes mentioned above. The move reflects New Brunswick’s continued commitment to welcoming French-speaking newcomers, particularly in its more rural regions.

Finally, the Express Entry Stream—Employment in New Brunswick Pathway—issued 50 invitations to candidates who had valid job offers from provincial employers. This pathway is directly linked to the federal Express Entry system, allowing the province to nominate high-skilled workers to meet economic priorities and fill labour shortages. As in other streams, candidates with experience under NOC 42201 and NOC 62200 were not considered in this draw.

By tailoring invitations across four distinct pathways, New Brunswick continues to emphasize a responsive and needs-based immigration strategy. These targeted draws aim to bolster the province’s workforce, support local communities, and maintain demographic balance through retention-focused policies.

As the demand for skilled labour rises across Canada, provinces like New Brunswick are increasingly using their PNPs to attract immigrants who can integrate quickly and effectively into the local economy, while also contributing to the social and cultural fabric of the region.
