Canada Strong Pass Launches with Free Park Access and Major Travel Discounts This Summer

Maple News reports that the Government of Canada is set to launch the Canada Strong Pass, an exciting summer initiative that offers free and discounted access to parks, museums, and travel across the country. Running from June 20 to September 2, 2025, the program is designed to encourage exploration of Canada’s natural and cultural treasures — and it’s available to everyone, including newcomers, temporary residents, and international visitors.

This unique initiative does not require a registration, physical pass, or digital activation. Instead, eligible benefits are automatically applied at participating sites and services nationwide. Simply show up and enjoy.

All visitors — regardless of age or residency status — will enjoy free admission to all Parks Canada-managed national parks, marine conservation areas, and historic sites. Visitors will also benefit from a 25% discount on camping and roofed lodging, no fees for lockage at historic canals, and partial refunds for select pre-booked experiences. A 3-month extension will also be added to existing annual single-location Parks Canada passes.

Children aged 17 and under receive additional advantages: free admission to most national and provincial museums and galleries, and free VIA Rail tickets when accompanied by an adult traveler holding a valid ticket. For young adults aged 18 to 24, the pass brings a 25% discount on VIA Rail tickets and 50% off museum and gallery admissions across Canada.

Travelers heading north will find more savings: day-use backcountry fees are waived in Northern Canada, and overnight backcountry stays come with a 25% discount. Many participating locations may also offer reduced rates on guided tours or special packages.

With the country celebrating both recovery and resilience, the Canada Strong Pass aims to make domestic travel more affordable and inclusive. It’s part of a broader effort to connect Canadians and newcomers through shared experiences in nature and culture.

According to Maple News, this is a prime opportunity for new immigrants, visitors, and students to take advantage of Canada’s rich landscape and vibrant heritage — at minimal cost, and without administrative hurdles.
